The Samuel Oschin Cancer Center, nationally ranked by U.S. News & World Report, treats more than 60 types of cancer. Its team of experts works to create a treatment plan to meet each patient's specific needs. The center's outpatient infusion center offers chemotherapy and supportive services, including 18 private rooms for treatment sessions six hours or longer.

Summary of Essential Duties:

• Assist with in-office minor surgical procedures, clinic flow, practice management, and help to facilitate continuity of care. Completion of pertinent nursing assessment
• Ensure new patient records received and abstracted for physician review.
• Telephone triage of clinic patients. Needs ranging from results review, pre-and post op concerns
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, pre-and post op teaching, treatment side effects
• Perform/assist the physician in excisional biopsy /wide excision/ JP drain/wound vacuum care, wound drainage
• BRCA/Colaris/ Tissue banking/ Genetic Blood/tissue banking in patients with Genetic Tumor Syndromes

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing preferred

Experience:

• A minimum of 3 year of acute care nursing experience required
• Oncology nursing experience highly preferred

License/Certifications:

• Current, unrestricted California State RN License required
• BLS from the American Heart Association required
• OCN certification OR willing to obtain one 1 year from start date
