The Samuel Oschin Cancer Center, nationally ranked by U.S. News & World Report, treats more than 60 types of cancer. Its team of experts works to create a treatment plan to meet each patient's specific needs. The center's outpatient infusion center offers chemotherapy and supportive services, including 18 private rooms for treatment sessions six hours or longer.

Summary of Essential Duties:

• Assist with in-office minor surgical procedures, clinic flow, practice management, and help to facilitate continuity of care. Completion of pertinent nursing assessment
• Ensure new patient records received and abstracted for physician review.
• Telephone triage of clinic patients. Needs ranging from results review, pre-and post op concerns
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, pre-and post op teaching, treatment side effects
• Perform/assist the physician in excisional biopsy /wide excision/ JP drain/wound vacuum care, wound drainage
• BRCA/Colaris/ Tissue banking/ Genetic Blood/tissue banking in patients with Genetic Tumor Syndromes

QualificationsQualifications:Education:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required BSN preferred

License/Certifications:

Current and unrestricted California RN License required BLS certification from the American Heart Association required OCN Specialty certification ( or willing to obtain one withing a years start from hire)

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience. Acute Care experience strongly desired Oncology nursing experience preferred Cedars-Sinai is an EEO employer.
